Career Outcomes Powered by Experience

Through our renowned co-op and experiential learning programs, our students graduate with resumés of real-world experience closely tied to their career paths. They’ve learned how to solve problems as part of a team of professionals and navigate the unexpected challenges of today’s fast-paced workplace. And they’ve gained unique insights into their classroom learning — a deeper focus and understanding that better prepares them for their careers and master’s and doctoral work in top graduate programs.

Our students know the power of experience

Co‐op (or cooperative education) is our flagship experiential program. It integrates classroom study with professional work experience, usually related to a student’s major or field of interest. Northeastern graduates complete six-month co‐op experiences throughout the United States and in more than 100 countries. See how many co‐ops our students finished before graduating.

I feel that the co-op program gave me a great advantage in applying to and interviewing for full-time software engineering jobs post-graduation (especially in today’s tough job market for software engineers). My co-ops also helped me narrow my career goals, gave me valuable experience in which I really felt like a part of the dev teams I was placed in, and helped me decide the type of software engineering I would like to pursue in the future.
